Breaking down Vederian Lowe's new contract with 49ers
While the signing of wide receiver Mike Evans has been getting all the attention for the San Francisco 49ers early this offseason, the team also signed a few other veterans, including offensive tackle Vederian Lowe.
According to Over the Cap, Lowe signed a two-year, $9.25 million deal with the 49ers. The contract includes a $2.76 million signing bonus, $5.75 million fully guaranteed and four years tacked on add the end to spread out the cap hits.
In 2026, Lowe's has a $1.3 million base salary, $340,000 in per-game roster bonuses, a $100,000 workout bonus and a $2.2 million cap hit.
In 2027, he'll make a $1.7 million salary, $340,000 in per-game roster bonuses, a $100,000 workout bonus and a $3.22 million cap hit.
While the contract technically voids in 2027, he'll count $3.76 million toward the cap if he's not extended by then.
The 26-year-old played at Illinois from 2017-21, before the Minnesota Vikings took him in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft (No. 184 overall). However, Minnesota traded him to the Patriots the following year.
Over his four seasons in the NFL, Lowe has appeared in 46 games and started 25, giving him plenty of experience to be a swing tackle for San Francisco for the next two years.
