The holiday season has arrived, and the upcoming schedule treats us to three Christmas games... albeit some slightly muddled matchups.

Headlined by the Chicago Bears facing the San Francisco 49ers in a marquee Sunday Night showdown, I’ve got you covered with my favorite NFL picks for the entire Week 17 slate.

Expert Week 17 NFL moneyline picks

Cowboys vs. Commanders: CowboysCowboys (-330)

First, Jayden Daniels was shut down for the remainder of the season. Now, Marcus Mariota is questionable for Thursday’s divisional showdown with a hand injury.

We’re in 2025, and journeyman quarterback Josh Johnson is set to start a Christmas game. Good luck keeping pace with the Dallas Cowboys’ elite offense in Landover.

Lions vs. Vikings: Lions Lions (-290)

The Detroit Lions' playoff chances are now extremely slim after failing to top Pittsburgh in Week 15, while the Minnesota Vikings will start QB3 Max Brosmer after J.J. McCarthy suffered yet another injury.

The Lions will take this dud of a matchup — one that looked like it would’ve carried high stakes when the schedule first rolled out.

Broncos vs. Chiefs: Broncos Broncos (-1100)

You wanted Patrick Mahomes for Christmas... Santa brought Chris Oladokun instead.

The Denver Broncos get back in the win column at Arrowhead.

Texans vs. Chargers: Texans Texans (+110)

The Houston Texans dominated last year’s Wild Card matchup, prevailing 32–12 as 2.5-point underdogs, and I like their No. 1 defense to feast against an undermanned Los Angeles Chargers offensive line.

Houston makes it eight straight wins on Sunday.

Ravens vs. Packers: Packers Packers (-136)

The Baltimore Ravens are allergic to hanging onto double-digit leads under John Harbaugh.

While the Green Bay Packers are fresh off blowing one of their own, Malik Willis showed he can fill in admirably for Jordan Love.

The same can’t be said for Tyler “Snoop" Huntley, as the Ravens offense repeatedly stalled out after Lamar Jackson left SNF with a back injury.

Packers prevail at Lambeau.

Cardinals vs. Bengals: Bengals Bengals (-375)

Joe Burrow looked like the Joe Burrow of old against Miami last week.

Going against an even more favorable matchup in Week 16, I expect the Cincinnati Bengals to put up video-game numbers on offense against the Arizona Cardinals. 

Meanwhile, Jacoby Brissett will continue his routine of attempting 40+ passes, with his team falling short in the process.

Seahawks vs. Panthers: Seahawks Seahawks (-360)

Seattle Seahawks fans are on cloud nine after the team’s biggest win of the season, erasing a 30–14 fourth-quarter deficit against the Rams to claim (for now) the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Although the Carolina Panthers are enjoying a magical season themselves, Seattle boasts the league’s best point differential and holds the upper hand on both sides of the ball.

Jaguars vs. Colts: Jaguars Jaguars (-300)

So much for making fun of Liam Coen during the offseason.

The quarterback guru has Trevor Lawrence playing the best football of his career over the past month, and the Jacksonville Jaguars will keep it rolling against an Indianapolis Colts team that couldn't force a single punt in its latest loss to the 49ers.

Patriots vs. Jets: Patriots Patriots (-1100)

Not only are the New England Patriots fresh off a prime-time win in Baltimore, but they continue to play better on the road, boasting a 7–0 record away from Foxborough.

Drake Maye is coming off his first 300-yard passing performance of the season, and a layup matchup in the Meadowlands will further bolster New England’s bid for the AFC East crown.

Steelers vs. Browns: Steelers Steelers (-190)

Aaron Rodgers sports a 106.7 passer rating over his last three starts, and Mike Tomlin has added another winning season to his resume.

Just like their Week 6 battle, the Pittsburgh Steelers are set for another double-digit win over the reeling Cleveland Browns, whose only silver lining is Myles Garrett being just one sack shy of the single-season record.

Saints vs. Titans: Saints Saints (-158)

The New Orleans Saints have enjoyed a bit of a second-half surge with Tyler Shough at the helm, winning three straight.

Shough has steadily improved as the season has progressed, while NOLA’s defense has quietly been stingy, ranking Top 5 in third-down percentage and Top 10 in total yards allowed per game.

While Cam Ward is coming off an impressive performance himself, New Orleans’ defense will loom large in Nashville.

Buccaneers vs. Dolphins: Buccaneers Buccaneers (-245)

The Quinn Ewers experiment didn’t go well for the Miami Dolphins last week, with the rookie pivot turning the ball over twice.

Although the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been dreadful down the stretch, they still control their own destiny in the NFC South. 

With one team highly motivated for a dub, I’ll take Baker Mayfield & Co. to prevail, as a loss could prove costly for Todd Bowles’ job security.

Giants vs. Raiders: Raiders Raiders (-120)

If you’re a fan of either of these teams, you desperately want to lose in hopes of grabbing the No. 1 overall pick.

That said, the New York Giants remain winless on the road, and the Las Vegas Raiders showed some fight in their latest game against Houston, highlighted by Ashton Jeanty coming off his best game of the season.

I’ll take Vegas to win in the Black Hole.

Eagles vs. Bills: Bills Bills (-136)

Although the Philadelphia Eagles should have their way on the ground, the same can be said for the Buffalo Bills, with James Cook leading the league in rushing yards.

Add in Josh Allen playing at an MVP level, and Buffalo’s 6-1 record at Highmark Stadium should send the Mafia home happy.

Bears vs. 49ers: Bears Bears (+146)

The Chicago Bears have had an extra two days to rest and prepare for this Sunday Night Football showdown in Santa Clara, so I’ll ride with them as short road dogs.

Philip Rivers recently picked apart the San Francisco 49ers defense, and their lack of a pass rush will come back to haunt them against Caleb Williams.

Rams vs. Falcons: Rams Rams (-520)

The Los Angeles Rams completely fell apart in the fourth quarter against Seattle, but Sean McVay will have his team ready to respond against the Atlanta Falcons.

Los Angeles continues to feature the league’s best offense, and it should be rolling from the jump against a Falcons team that has battled inconsistency all season long.

Trace Carroll, close friend of ASU's Dillingham, takes over as Chaparral football coach

Trace Carroll, who was teammates and best friends with Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham in high school, is returning to Scottsdale Chaparral to lead the football program. Carroll played for two of the greatest high school coaches in Arizona history, Ron Estabrook and Charlie Ragle. He played at the tail end of Estabrook's career and the start of Ragle's tenure at the school. He was an offensive lineman, next to future NFL tackle Taylor Lewan, on the 2008 team that reached the state final, before losing to Scottsdale Saguaro. The quarterback of that team, Spencer Stone, is actress Emma Stone's brother. Cleveland Guardians sign Tanner Bibee to long-term contract extension

Tanner Bibee emerged a central piece to the Guardians’ future last season. He’ll now remain in Cleveland until at least 2029. The Guardians signed the right-hander to a five-year contract extension through the 2029 season that includes a club option for 2030, the club announced Saturday afternoon. Bibee was set to become a free agent after the 2028 season. This extension eats up one and potentially two years of his free agent eligibility. For Bibee, it allows him to receive his first major payday without further injury risk. For the Guardians, it allows them to retain him for an extra season or two by giving him some early financial guarantees.
