Masters invitation awaits winner of Latin America Amateur Championship
Amateur golf is well underway in 2026, and one of the biggest events of the year is already here.
The 2026 Latin America Amateur Championship begins Thursday in Peru, and there's plenty on the line for more than 100 of the top amateurs from across Latin America. An invitation to the Masters. Spots in the field at the U.S. Open and Open Championship. Exemptions into more of the top amateur events around the globe.
There are 79 players in the field who have previously competed in the Latin America Amateur, including 66 who competed in 2025 at Pilar Golf Club in Argentina. Twenty-nine players will make their debut.

Where is the Latin America Amateur Championship 2026?
The 2026 championship is at Lima Golf Club, a parkland-style course situated in a residential area, surrounded by high-rise buildings, many of which have been constructed in the century since the club’s inception in 1924. The venue has hosted the Copa Los Andes, the Pan American Games and the Women’s Amateur Latin America Championship. Lima Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in Peru and underwent a redesign by the golf course architecture firm, Mackenzie & Ebert, in 2018. The course is a par-70 layout measuring 6,804 yards.
How to watch the Latin America Amateur Championship 2025
Championship coverage will include three hours of live coverage during each competitive round (3-6 p.m. ET on Thursday and Friday and 12-3 p.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday, all on ESPN). A 30-minute wrap-up highlight show will also be produced after the conclusion of the final round. In addition to broadcasters around the world, the entire broadcast will be simulcast on LAACgolf.com. The broadcast commentary team will feature Rich Lerner, Andy North, Steve Burkowski, Emilia Doran and John Sutcliffe.
Latin America Amateur Championship format
The championship format is 72 holes of stroke play with a cut taking place after 36 holes for the top 50 players plus ties. In the event of a tie after 72 holes, the winner is decided by a sudden-death playoff.
What does a player get for winning the Latin America Amateur Championship?
The winner will receive an invitation into the 2026 Masters and exemptions into the 2026 Open Championship, the 2026 U.S. Open, the 2026 Amateur Championship and the 2026 U.S. Amateur; the runner(s)-up will receive an exemption into final qualifying for the 2026 Open Championship and the 2026 U.S. Open, and the runner-up and third-place finisher will receive an exemption into the Amateur Championship.
Latin America Amateur Championship 2026 field
The field at the LAAC consists of 108 players representing 29 IOC-recognized countries and territories from the region that are current members of the International Golf Federation. There are eight players ranked in the top 100 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Utah junior Gabriel Palacios, at No. 24, is the highest-ranked player in the field. Ten of the 12 top-10 finishers from 2025 are in the field.
