Ada's Richardson becomes double All-Stater
Ada’s Sania Richardson became a double All-Stater when she was selected as one of the 10 members of the Oklahoma Coaches Association 2025 Large East All-State team.
Richardson put up lofty numbers during her 15-game stint with the Lady Cougars. She averaged 24.6 points per game with 81 assists, 51 rebounds and 50 steals.
She was named to the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association Middle East All-state team earlier this month.
Joining Richardson on the OCA Large East squad included: Laynee Stanley of Fort Gibson, Macee Matthews of Coweta, Macy Marriccini of Broken Arrow, Addy Whiteley of Fort Gibson, Audrey Hopkins of Lincoln Christian, Jsoie Megehee of Shawnee, Marcayla Johnson of Booker T. Washington, Hope Bump of Sand Springs and McKenzie Mathurin of Broken Arrow.
Richardson also landed on the Class 4A Large East All-Stars by Class list.
More All-Staters
Allen’s Stoney Cully and Caidence Cross of Vanoss were named to the OGBCA Small East All-State team.
Cully averaged 9.3 points and four rebounds per game for the balanced Allen offense. She made 35 3-point baskets and also had 109 assists and 78 steals.
“Stoney has exemplified what a student-athlete should be. In her four years with our program, she has been our leader on the floor at the point guard position. She has given her all to our program and her teammates, she will be missed,” Allen girls basketball coach Dottie Slabaugh said.
Like Cully for Allen, Cross has led the Vanoss Lady Wolves from the point guard position and has been invaluable for her team throughout her solid high school basketball career.
“It’s one of the highest honors you can receive as a high school girl in Oklahoma — a big-time honor for a big-time player,” said Vanoss coach Jonathon Hurt. “She was a four-year starter who battled for us every night. I’m extremely proud of her and she is very deserving of this honor.”
Joining Cross and Cully on the OGBCA Small East All-State squad includes Alyssa Parker of Pocola, Teague Muncy of Dale, Tori Kilburn of Hartshorne, Jaycie Nichols of Caddo, Bailey Nester of Quinton, Jazz Harrison of Howe, Brooky Suringer of Crowder, Elaine Berryhill of Okemah, Ava Bell of Dale, Jayda Moore of Hartshorne, Madison Grogan of Whitesboro, Hannah Reynolds of Pawhuska, Jordan Jackson of Pocola, Alexandria Collins of Okay and Jordyn Nichols of Caddo.
Local All-Stars
Cully and fellow Allen senior Kaylee Davis were named to the OCA’s Class A Small East All-Stars by Class. They were joined by Stonewall High School standout Lilly Wyche.
Cross was named to the Class 2A Small East All-Star by Class team and Richardson was named to the Class 4A Large East squad.
Stonewall’s Mika Matt was the only area player named to a boys All-Star team. He earned a spot on the Class A Small East All-Star by Class unit. That group also includes Diezel Davis of Okay, Kase Lindly of Wright City, George Petts IV of Summit Christian, Adam Fenton of Red Oak, Parker Bearden of Caddo, James Childers of Rattan, Reed Kauk of Red Oak, Peyton Murray of Summit Christian, Blake Clinesmith of Ripley, John Mark Roller of Regen Christian and Bryce Smith of Ripley.
Allen’s Dottie Slabaugh was named the OGBCA Small School Southeast Region Coach of the Year after leading her squad to the Class A State Tournament and a 23-5 record.
