Adam Schefter predicts how Browns QB situation may go in 2026

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter gave a guess for what may happen with the Cleveland Browns quarterback battle.

To Schefter, Cleveland could turn to veteran Deshaun Watson early in the season before giving second-year quarterback Shedeur Sanders a go later on in the season.

MORNING WIN:The Browns quarterback competition is a waste of time

"It won't surprise me if it's Watson early on and Shedeur for the bulk of the season," Schefter said on Thursday's Pat McAfee Show.

Obviously, that would put Cleveland on yet another quarterback roller coaster and wouldn't inspire much hope unless Sanders settles in as a starter once he gets a turn. However, we're sure Browns fans just want one guy they can count on under center for once instead of the continual Dawg Pound musical chairs at quarterback.

We'll see what actually transpires once training camp ends, and the Browns name a starter. Will it be Watson? Sanders? We know Cleveland fans are eager to finally get some clarity.

When do the Browns play in their first preseason game?

Saturday, Aug. 15, on the road in Chicago.
