Auburn Sends Miles Kelly Message After Historic Season

Auburn finished 32-6 (15-3 SEC), won the SEC regular-season crown and was ranked fourth in the final AP Poll under head coach Bruce Pearl.

The Tigers finished 13th in the nation in scoring, averaging 83 points per game, with a plus-13.5 scoring margin (eighth best). 

The program secured the No. 1 overall NCAA seed, knocked out Alabama State, Creighton, Michigan and Michigan State to get into the Final Four, then fell 79-73 to Florida in the semifinals. 

Much of their success last season can be attributed to the play of senior guard Miles Kelly. 

On Saturday, Auburn took to X to salute Kelly, posting a montage video with the caption, “Gonna miss this sharp shoota 👌🔥”.

Kelly starred at Parkview High School (Lilburn, Georgia) and Hargrave Military Academy before committing to Georgia Tech as a four-star recruit, per 247Sports.

Over three seasons with the Yellow Jackets, he appeared in 95 games (60 starts), averaged 13.9 points and 5.5 rebounds as a junior, earned All-ACC honorable mention and reached 1,000 career points.

Kelly transferred to Auburn for 2024-25, bringing elite 3-point shooting and veteran savvy to Bruce Pearl’s roster.

In 2024-25, Kelly averaged 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, shooting 40.6% from the field.

He led the Tigers in made 3-pointers (88) at a 37.8% clip, including a nine-trey, 30-point explosion at Kentucky on March 1.

With seniors Johni Broome, Denver Jones and Kelly all out of eligibility, Auburn now faces a major roster rebuild.

Today's parting montage signals the end of one of the most efficient, veteran-led campaigns in program history.

Trace Carroll, close friend of ASU's Dillingham, takes over as Chaparral football coach

Trace Carroll, who was teammates and best friends with Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham in high school, is returning to Scottsdale Chaparral to lead the football program. Carroll played for two of the greatest high school coaches in Arizona history, Ron Estabrook and Charlie Ragle. He played at the tail end of Estabrook's career and the start of Ragle's tenure at the school. He was an offensive lineman, next to future NFL tackle Taylor Lewan, on the 2008 team that reached the state final, before losing to Scottsdale Saguaro. The quarterback of that team, Spencer Stone, is actress Emma Stone's brother.
