Seahawks open Jadarian Price’s 21-day practice window

The Seattle Seahawks will open running back Jadarian Price’s designated 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve, per head coach Mike Macdonald.

Macdonald made his weekly radio appearance on Seattle Sports’ “Brock & Salk” show. Host Brock Huard specifically asked him about Price, and Macdonald said:

“The plan is for [him] to practice this week,” but goes on to mention that “game status and all that, we don’t know yet.”

Price will have his first chance to practice this week and is eligible to come off injured reserve for Week 8 against the Chicago Bears after missing Weeks 4, 5, 6 and 7.

He became the biggest addition the Seahawks made this offseason when they selected him No. 32 overall in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft. He had big shoes to fill in the running back room when Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III left for the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, and showed the natural running style the Seahawks were hoping for in the first three weeks of this season. Price started all three, rushing for 119 yards on 28 carries (4.3 yards per carry) while also catching four passes for 21 yards.

It didn’t come without issues, though, as he fumbled in both Weeks 2 and 3. It seemed like opponents were keying in on his ripped-yet-light upper body. It turns out he injured his chest and shoulder in Week 2. His opponents were clearly trying to make him tap out of the game because of. The Seahawks put Price on injured reserve with a chest and shoulder injury and shifted to using Emanuel Wilson as their primary running back in the meantime.
