Next Wednesday, Florida football will show itself off to the SEC world at the conference’s media days in Atlanta. The Gators will do so with a diverse package of players. The conference announced Tuesday that QB DJ Lagway , OL Jake Slaughter and DL Caleb Banks will represent UF in Atlanta. Media days will run from Tuesday, July 15-Friday, July 18. Team Ada Cougars, a local baseball team made up of high school players from all across the area, won the East Central Classic last weekend at Ken Turner Field. The Cougar squad defeated the Pontotoc Prospects 10-3 in the championship game. The tournament was a fundraiser for the ECU Tiger baseball program. Team members include Beckett Heilaman, Asa Steers and Wyatt Cole from Ada, Ryan Cosar, Noah Shelton and Jayse Wort of Byng, Gunner Cowger and Greg Forshay of Latta and Mason Harris of Roff. Coaching the Ada Cougars was Michael Cole. Ada Cougars 10, Pontotoc Prospects 3 Ada led just 5-4 before scoring five runs in the top of the fourth inning to put the game out of reach. Cole, Harris and Steers all had hit two hits apiece to lead a nine-hit Ada offense.
